6 Steps to Skyrocket Your Learning Process [by Jim Kwik]

In his recent podcast episode, a world-wide known memory coach Jim Kwik shared 6 tactics that can dramatically improve the learning process and help to get faster and better results.

Whether you’re an English learner or an English teacher who strives to do your best for your students, these tips are gold.

Here’s the summary:

1. Read to succeed
It is scientifically proven that a large part of our brain stays active when reading. When we read we consume the information more effectively and faster.

Of course, you can learn by watching or listening to educational materials as well. Whatever works best for you.

2. Reflect
Once you learn something new, take a pause and think about what you’ve learned. Compare it with your previous knowledge.

3. Record
It’s always a great idea to write down a summary of what you’ve just learned. By doing this we connect this information to our brains.

4. Relate
Share your knowledge with someone else. As Jim Kwik says when you teach something you get to learn it twice.

5. Retrieve
Test what you’ve just learned. You can literally take the test if there’s one or close the page and retell the information to yourself.

In English learning, you can retrieve a grammar structure you’ve just learned, a word or a useful idiom.

6. Review
Review your new knowledge the next day so you don’t forget it.

By doing this, you’re moving this knowledge from your short-term memory to your long-term memory.

Hope it helps. Let me know which step was the most useful for you?
